In-Depth Geophysical

Accelerating innovation across the seismic processing and velocity modeling industry with leading geophysical and computational expertise.

Since 2010, In-Depth Geophysical has created cutting-edge proprietary velocity and seismic technologies that tackle our clients’ toughest subsurface challenges—using a service business model. Our growing client base includes supermajors, independents, and NOCs. We continue to invest our profits into our new computing facilities and data center and developing novel technologies.

Featured Articles and Publications

  • Q-FWI-Tomography and Least-Squares Migration (2023)

Bin Gong, Tianjiang Li, King Sim Lee, Zhaobo Meng, Kai Zhang, Assem Bibolova, and Zhanibek Katrenov.

Application of Q-FWI-tomography and least-squares migration to improve seismic resolution in the Tengiz oil field, in partnership with Chevron and Tengizchevroil.

  • Vector-Offset/Angle Tiling (VOT/VAT)

In-Depth’s proprietary tiling technology enables superior imaging in areas with complex shadows and azimuthal-dependent illumination, dramatically improving imaging and interpretation under salt bodies and high-absorption regions.

  • Spatially-Adaptive Multiple Attenuation (SAMA)

Joel Latchman, Rika Burr, Jonathan Woolley, Anna Nolan, Bin Gong, Jinming Zhu, and Fang Yuan.

Interbed multiple attenuation with an automatic spatially adaptive thresholding operator: a case study in the North Louisiana Salt Basin, in partnership with Bright Reflections and Chesapeake Energy.

  • Point-Spread Function (PSF) Imaging

We use optical and medical imaging techniques to model the point-spread function of individual ray paths throughout the image. We can then deconvolve the final image using these modeled PSFs to eliminate noise and artifacts produced by interference around complex geology.
